Designed by Kazuyo Sejima (Pritzker Prize in 2010) and completed in 2016, the museum is located in Tokyo's Sumida Ward, where Sumida Hokusai was born and spent most of his life. It's a temple to the Japanese artist's work, including the likes of The Great Wave off Kanagawa and Red Fuji.
This project doesn't only celebrate Hokusai's work, it has also a cultural beacon for both locals and tourists.
